About
Hey! I'm Jace. I'm a "Creative Technologist" -- meaning I take technology and do weird stuff with it. I also live in my car (well, it's an SUV -- but don't call it a van). I'd been threatening to live in my car since I was 18, and, after living in Asheville, NC during Hurricane Helene, I finally decided "fuck it," and I've been doing it (roughly) ever since.
Everything I've added to my car I've basically designed and built myself: my bedframe, my kitchenette, my battery system (down to the battery cables) -- all built by me.
The vehicle also runs OpenPilot, an open-source self-driving system (yes, it's legal). I basically use it to eat Culver's (and occasionally work) while on the road.
This site is where I document my experiments and experiences -- I build so many projects and have so many future predictions (that usually turn out correct), but I've never opted to actually publicize them before.
I'm also currently on a (really long) road trip -- I'm basically going from Key West to San Diego, to Alaska, to the Arctic Ocean. Yes, my friends think I'm stupid (I am kind of stupid).
Lastly, I don't have a structure to any of this. I plan to post about my trip in some form or another -- blog, vlog, whatever -- but I'm not doing it in a way that fits any particular format. I'm going to do it "my way."
